Trading is the lifeblood of Adalia. With no NPCs (non-player characters), players are responsible for the entirety of the supply chain and all market activity.
Sell orders can be placed by crew present on the same asteroid as the Marketplace. Sellable items include those present in any owned storage facility or ship cargo holds, provided the ship is landed. The items will remain in a “locked” state in the storage facility / ship cargo hold until they are sold. Sell orders are effective after the required surface transport time between the inventory and marketplace has elapsed.
Buyers must reserve space in an available storage facility on the same asteroid as the Marketplace to successfully place a buy order. Additionally, the crew must be present on the same asteroid as the Marketplace when placing the order. Once a buy order is filled, the items will arrive in the destination inventory after the appropriate surface transfer time has elapsed.
Marketplace operators may set a percentage fee for both makers and takers which is deducted in SWAY. For example, a sell order is placed for 50 Calcite @ 20 SWAY with a 1% maker fee and a 2% taker fee. A market buyer purchases the 50 Calcite for 1,020 SWAY (including the 2% taker fee), and the seller receives 990 SWAY (less the 1% maker fee). 30 SWAY accrues to the Marketplace operator.
