The Habitat is a very large building that allows many Crews to be stationed on a single lot on the surface of an asteroid. They are each the Adalian equivalent of small cities.
Crews stationed in a Habitat may use it as a base for performing actions on the asteroid’s surface, and enjoy a bonus to their action time efficiency due to living in the comfort of a Habitat.
New Crewmates may only be recruited onto Crews at Habitats.
Crews stationed in a Habitat may belong to many different players, as long as they have the needed permission to be stationed there.
There may only be a certain number of Crewmates stationed in a Habitat. If a Habitat is close to being full, the time efficiency bonus decreases towards no bonus.

---|---|---|
Station Crew | Station a Crew in this Habitat. The Crew will need to travel from their current base to the Habitat. The Crew or the account it belongs to will need to have permission to station at the Habitat. | |
Recruit Crewmate | Recruit a new Crewmate at this Habitat. The Crewmate will be recruited onto the current Crew if they are stationed at this Habitat and have space; otherwise they will be recruited onto a new Crew. The player’s account will need to have permission to recruit Crewmates at the Habitat. | |
Eject My Crew | Eject the Crew that is currently stationed at this Habitat to orbit. WARNING: This will take many hours if on Adalia Prime, and is not a good route to traveling to other asteroids. Only do this if fully understand the action and have a good reason for it. | |
Eject Residents | Eject another Crew that is currently stationed at this Habitat to orbit. Must be performed by the Crew that owns the Habitat, and the Crew being ejected from the Habitat must not currently have permission to be stationed there (either because the Habitat was formerly public but was switched to a private or other restricted policy, or because the Crew or account was removed from an allowlist, or because an Agreement that was in place has expired.) | |
Deconstruct | Deconstruct the Habitat. A Habitat construction site is created and 90%+ of the construction supplies are returned, but rounded down to the nearest whole unit. |
The Habitat is limited to a maximum of 1000 stationed Crewmates, in any configuration of Crews (e.g. 1000 1-Crewmate Crews, 200 5-Crewmate Crews, or anything in between).
There is a time efficiency bonus of 20% to all actions taken by Crews stationed in a Habitat with under 500 Crewmates stationed in it. As the number of Crewmates climbs above 500, the bonus decays linearly until it becomes 0% (no bonus) at 1000 Crewmates.
Habitats are not unique as a place where Crews may be stationed; ships also serve that role. However, Habitats are unique in that they are the only place where new Crewmates to be recruited onto Crews. Until an asteroid has its first Habitat built, all Crewmates at that asteroid must travel there from other asteroids. Once that first Habitat is built, its thriving population provides a pool of new recruits natively born on that asteroid. The construction of its first Habitat is therefore a major moment for an asteroid.
